Tra Dong, Vietnam
where there is no doctor
In August, 2006 Hamill was part of a medical mission with International Medical Options, Stanford University Medical Center, providing health care to the rural poor in remote Vietnam. There she worked with the villagers of Trading both on clinic triage and on colaborative photography. Outcomes included better health for the people as well as an exhibition in their community center and later a video installation that incorporated their fishing nets, woven mats, and medical coupons. This video gives some background on the work.
